You Were Beautiful Before You Knew How to Explain It
Share
There is a kind of beauty that exists before anyone named it.
Before the mirror became a place of evaluation. Before you learned to look at yourself through other people's eyes. Before you decided that beauty was something you had to earn or maintain or prove. Before all of that, there was just you. And you were already it.
Beauty is not a reward for getting things right. It is not the result of effort or discipline or the right combination of products or lighting. It is not conditional on a number or a size or an age or a season of your life. It is something that lives in you the way your breath does, quietly, persistently, without asking your permission.
What we forget is that beauty is not really about being looked at. It is about being present. It is the warmth in your voice when you talk about something you love. It is the way you move through a room when you feel at home in yourself. It is the softness in your face when you are not performing for anyone. That is where beauty lives. In the unguarded moments. In the truth of who you actually are.
You were beautiful before you learned to question it. You are beautiful now, in the middle of whatever season you are in. You will be beautiful on the other side of it.
