Receiving Is Not the Same as Taking
Share
Many of us were taught, quietly and thoroughly, that wanting more is greedy.
That talking about money is inappropriate. That if you have it, you should not say so. That wanting it reveals something unflattering about your character. And so we learned to need less, to ask for less, to work hard in silence and hope that eventually the numbers would change on their own.
But here is what that belief costs you: it makes receiving difficult. And a life that cannot receive cannot truly flow.
Money is energy. It moves. It is meant to move. And when it comes to you, it is not being taken from somewhere it was needed. It is finding the person who is ready for it. Who has created something, offered something, built something, shown up for something in a way that calls it forward. You can be that person and still be a generous person. You can receive abundantly and still give freely. These things are not opposites.
The belief that you are not the kind of person who has money is a story, not a fact. It was probably not even your story originally. You inherited it the way you inherit so many things, without choosing it. But you get to choose what you carry now.
Money comes to people who expect it to. Not with arrogance. With calm, open readiness. Like someone who has set the table and is not surprised when guests arrive.
