Power That Does Not Need to Prove Itself

There is a kind of power that announces itself.

That is loud about what it has earned and what it is owed. That demands to be recognized before it can feel real. That takes up space aggressively because somewhere underneath it, it is afraid that if it is quiet for even a moment, it will disappear.

That is not the kind of power that lasts.

The power that lasts is the kind that does not need to prove itself to be real. It is the kind that walks into a room and does not need the room to confirm it. It is steady and grounded and not easily shaken by the opinion of people who do not fully understand what they are looking at. It is patient without being passive. It is certain without being rigid. It is the kind of power that comes from knowing who you are so well that no one can talk you out of it.

You have access to that kind of power. You were born with it. The seasons that have asked the most of you, the moments where you kept going when you had every reason to stop, the quiet ways you have shown up for yourself and for others without making a production of it, all of that has been building something in you. Something steady. Something real.
